In 2020, Perry organized collaborators to submit video diaries exploring what silence meant during the stay-at-home orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project examines how these artists viewed silence in the city and the moments of silence at home.

After the release of Silence is Different Now: Part 1, Perry again gathered collaborators to reflect on how the word “silence” changed after a month and after the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement of 2020.

Perry wrote, directed, and performed in Emojinal Rollercoaster, a sketch show with Quick Pickle ensemble. The show had a three week run in The de Maat Studio Theatre then performed in iO’s Bentwood Festival.

Perry first directed It’s Easy Being Green in 2016 as a part of the first Climate Change Theatre Action’s Festival. The company commissioned short plays on the subject of climate change to be written all over the world. Perry and the ensemble assembled a collection of these plays and wrote their own transitions bringing the conversation to Chicago.
